SAN BENITO HOUSE

San Benito House, wedding destination, wedding location

The San Benito House is a turn of the century hotel, restored in mid-June 1989 and reopened as a country inn in the tradition of the auberge of Europe and the wayside hostelry of New England.

Carol Mickelsen, executive chef, bought and restored the hotel. She found some of the decorative accessories on trips to Europe and has haunted the Bay Area's antique shops to find furnishings, light fixtures, and brass beds. Greg Regan, Carol's son, has trained with Carol for many years and is now owner and head chef of the San Benito House.

Weddings are held in a flowered garden, complete with a gazebo. The wide expanse of lawn surrounded by flowers makes a very special location for the ceremony. The reception area is an outside patio off the dining room where delicious meals or hors d'oeuvres will be served.

There is also an old fashioned saloon with a range of fine wines and beer. See the San Benito House's web site for more photographs and information.
